Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is a grey car wrap harder to maintain than other colors?
Actually, it’s much easier! Grey is celebrated in the car community for its ability to hide light road dust, water spots, and pollen far better than black or bright colors. However, to maintain the crisp finish of matte and gloss variants, we still recommend regular cleanings.
How do I safely wash my grey vinyl wrap?
Hand washing is always recommended. Use a dedicated wrap-safe, pH-neutral automotive soap and a plush microfiber wash mitt. Strictly avoid automated car washes with spinning nylon brushes, as they can permanently micro-scratch gloss finishes and ruin the smooth look of matte grey.
Can a grey wrap be applied over minor rust spots?
No. Vinyl wrap requires a perfectly smooth, chemically stable surface to adhere properly. Rust creates a rough, flaky surface that prevents the adhesive from bonding, and the trapped moisture underneath will continue to corrode the metal, eventually causing the wrap to bubble and lift. All rust must be repaired and primed prior to wrapping.
